Here is an in-progress shot of an Island Series installation located in a residence in Park City, Utah. Jeffries Glass creates paper templates for each wall installation to help map out the design. We want to make sure it looks the best it can be before drilling the holes and securing our hand-blown glass pieces. Each glass piece ranges in size and shape to help the eye travel along the wall.
The Island Series is inspired by travels to various islands scattered throughout the Pacific Ocean. These installations are a series of snapshots from island chains. As we layout the compositions, we step back from the walls to see how the forms work together as they take on a larger shape. The empty space between forms become the simple beauty in the over all composition.
